This weekend our only goal was:
- try apple-cider-donuts
I kept reading about the different orchards in this area, and had come across “apple cider donuts” in descriptions of different festivities, but I was reading it as two separate things. Donuts, and apple cider; which sounds great together on a cold day. When I realized they were one thing, specific to the Northeast, we had to try them.
The donuts were delicious, not too sweet or heavy. They are cake donuts filled with tiny pieces of apple and crystallized sugar, and the apple flavor is not too overpowering.
They were still warm when we tried them & we may
or may not have taken a walk around before going back to get seconds.
Next time we will try them with the cider and consider our goals met.
